Blog 2 December 27 '09

Just finished up our newsletter, you can find it at http://www.blacktimberoutfitters.net/broch.pdf

Here's some of the info.....

A big thanks to everyone of you who made our year what it was.  We are continually amazed at the years we have, the new people we meet, and the hunts we enjoy with each of you.  As you consider your hunts this year, we would love to have you back.

This year we are offering more hunts then we ever have before and as we look at them they range from the top of the state to the bottom.  All of t he hunts we have added in Northern Utah are all on private lands with landonwers who are working with us to really manage the wildlife for the best the unit can offer and produce.  These ranches will be hunted lightly this year but we anticipate some great bucks and bulls coming off of them.
We are working to plant food plots, set up blinds and tree stands and working to secure bull tags in of of the areas as it is part of the North Cache limited entry unit.  If you would like specifics about these new ranches give us a call.  For these new hunts and all of our other hunts we have this year, be sure to visit our 2010 hunt page on our web page at http://www.blacktimberoutfitters.net/hunts-10.html

For big bulls, put in for the San Juan limited entry permits. The draw is the end of April. If you are lucky enough to draw it is a hunt of a lifetime where we are harvesting 370+ bulls.  There are 4 hunts available this year an (hunt numbers have changed) archery hunt #323, early rifle rut hunt #369, muzzleloader rut hunt #398, and a late rifle hunt #370.  We have learned that this year there will be 6 landowner tags (choose your season0 that will all be auctioned off through a local conservation organization.  Additionally, there is still 1 premium, 1 archery, and 3 choose your rifle season permits available, making 11 total permits you can buy for this incredible unit.  We anticipate given the economy and the number of tags available that they are likely to sale for a bit less then they have in years past.  Don’t forget, these are all tax deductible.

For the past several years we have been working with a couple of landowners in south central Utah with their CWMU.  The property was sold and we are working with the new landowner as well.  We have secured additional tags on what we think is one of the best CWMUs in the state for producing big bulls.  This unit is on the Fishlake where we anticipate harvesting 330 class bulls.  We will be hunting elk here (9/27—10/1) the last week of September where the bulls will be at the peak of the rut.  Great food, great accommodations, great company away from it all, if you are looking for a great hunt at a great price, this is the place.

As always we thank you for your support and interest in BTO and we look forward to huting with you all at some point in the future.  Enjoy the New Year!

Blog 1 December 2009

Hey everyone---

With all the Blog craze, I thought it might be a good idea to start a BTO blog.  This way we can keep you all apprised with our available hunts, scouting efforts, trail cam pictures and everything else.  We had another great year harvesting some great mule deer, elk, antelope and even a big horn sheep this year--way to go Lewie!  We have these all (still missing a few--you know who you are get me those dang pictures) updated on our web page at http://www.blacktimberoutfitters.net/bigame.html

First, let me say thanks to all of you who are not only clients but some of our best friends and hunting buddies, we appreciate your friendship and business.  We hope you all have a wonderful joyful Christmas and a great new year.

2010 looks like its shaping up to be our busiest year ever.  We are now managing several properties in Northern Utah and have a bunch of hunts there.  In addition Johnson Mountain Ranch in south central Utah is under new ownership and management and we are excited to be helping out with some of the hunts there.  We will be doing 6 buck and bull combo hunts there the last week of September, these are sure to be fun action packed hunts where everyone will have a chance at a 320+ bull and hopefully some great bucks.

News from the San Juan, likely the best news is many of the big boys made it through another year.  We get asked about Snake all the time--although we did see him earlier in the summer, he never made it to his favorite summer stomping grounds.  We hope he made it but are hopes are not too high, its amazing to us that a bull like that made it through so many hunting seasons.  Some other great news is there will be 6 landonwer tags this year, these will all be auctioned off at various SFW banquets, these are all choose your season hunts.  So with the already 4 conservation permits there are now 10 total guaranteed tags for huge bulls on the San Juan--be sure to let us know if you are looking at a tag on this unit.  We anticipate another season of 370+ bulls.

Be sure to check out or 2010 hunts at http://www.blacktimberoutfitters.net/hunts-10.html and shoot me an email if you have any particulars.

Thanks and Merry Christmas
